A total of 41 municipalities have been selected for Rapid Housing Initiative Round 3 funding. Projects proposed under the Cities Stream are prioritized by the municipalities and must meet or exceed the Initiative’s minimum requirements. Municipalities can flow funds through an intermediary, such as a third-party housing provider.
The municipalities receiving funding are:
- North: Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Iqaluit
- Western Canada: Burnaby, BC’s Capital Regional District, Richmond, Surrey and Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, Regina and Saskatoon, Brandon and Winnipeg.
- Ontario: County of Simcoe, Greater Sudbury, Halton Region, Hamilton, Kingston, London, Niagara Region, Ottawa, Region of Durham, Region of Waterloo, Regional Municipality of Peel, Regional Municipality of York, Toronto and Windsor.
- Québec: Gatineau, Laval, Longueuil, Montréal and Québec City.
- Atlantic Canada: Fredericton and Moncton, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and St. John’s, Cape Breton Regional Municipality and Halifax, Charlottetown and Summerside.
Final allocations to each municipality will be announced individually. Information about the projects will be made available to the public via announcements.
