MLI Select Rollout
- CMHC will accept MLI Flex applications until March 6th at 11:59 p.m. EST.
- On March 7th at 12:00 a.m. EST we will begin accepting MLI Select applications.
- On March 10th we begin underwriting new MLI Select applications.
- Borrowers who have an unassigned MLI Flex application may choose to withdraw their application and re-submit under the new MLI Select product. Withdrawn MLI Flex applications that are unassigned will have their application fee fully reimbursed.

We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of MLI Select. Replacing our existing MLI Flex multi-unit mortgage loan insurance, MLI Select encourages the preservation and construction of affordable, accessible, and climate-compatible multi-unit housing in Canada.
Access reduced premiums and longer amortization periods based on your level of commitment to affordability, accessibility, and climate compatibility using MLI Select.
MLI Select uses a point system to offer insurance incentives based on affordability, energy efficiency, and accessibility. Incentives will be available for new construction and purchase or refinance.
The more committed you are to social and environmental outcomes, the better the incentives. You can choose to focus on a single area like affordability or combine commitments to increase your points and incentives.

1For borrowers making an affordability commitment of 20+ years, an additional 30 points are awarded
