What is this award?
The CMHC President’s Medal for Outstanding Housing Research recognizes a significant research contribution that helps us achieve our aspiration to make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
addressed a priority action area identified by CMHC’s President — this year is Challenges and Solutions to Housing Supply Gaps
Does the research address and add to our understanding of the causes, challenges and solutions surrounding housing supply gaps in Canada?
Does the research provide new strategies to address any of the various issues and trends affecting housing supply?
Over the last 20 years in Canada, housing supply has not responded adequately to demand. There are numerous challenges present that impact the creation of sufficient housing supply. This year’s President’s Medal theme seeks to highlight research that betters our understanding of these challenges and highlights innovative solutions produced by this research that can work to improve provision and preservation of housing supply.
