Four years ago, the Happy Homes project convened housing industry stakeholders and created innovative and powerful strategies to promote affordability and social wellbeing through design and social programming in multi-unit buildings.
This project aims to demonstrate and share the social and affordable benefits of thoughtful design and social programming.
- The first demonstration site (Tomo House) focuses on the impact of design strategies. The second site (Collingwood Village) focuses on social programming actions – both demonstrations are applying strategies from the Happy Homes toolkit.
- The demonstration project will assess residents’ perceptions of social trust, belonging, engagement, safety, accessibility, financial barriers and resilience.
