This project will demonstrate an Aboriginal social housing project providing access to affordable, adequate and stable housing.
- Kijaté is a 24-unit located in Val-d'Or, Québec
- It’s unique in its cultural relevance and in understanding the realities of urban Aboriginal people
- It provides services that foster a positive and constructive living environment for members of the urban Aboriginal community
The challenges and iterations leading to this social innovation will be documented, as well as its impacts and lessons learned. The knowledge gained from this project will be disseminated to replicate the solution in other cities welcoming Aboriginal population groups.
