Marie-Claude Tremblay
Senior Vice-President, People and Strategy
Describing herself as a “generalist who enjoys having a macro view of the company,” Marie-Claude Tremblay leads the People & Strategy sector at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) as it continues its transition to a modern, agile, digital company.
Marie-Claude joined CMHC in 2010 as Director, Corporate Relations, moving to the role of Chief of Staff to the President in 2014. In 2015, she was named Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, to later be renamed People and Strategy.
The creation of the People and Strategy sector coincides with CMHC’s move to a Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE). “ROWE changes the interaction between managers and employees – it puts control over work in the hands of employees, which is where it should be. People leaders focus on results and employees decide how to achieve them. When I think of the type of work environment I want to be in, now and in the future, this is it.”
Marie-Claude holds Master and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (History) from Laurentian University. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1995. She is a life-long learner, voracious reader, and enjoys regular walks with the family dog. Marie-Claude lives with her husband and three teenage children in the rural community of Navan.
