Canada mortgage bonds

CMHC’s securitization programs facilitate a reliable supply of funding for mortgage lending in Canada and foster competitiveness within the mortgage industry. Introduced in 2001, Canada Mortgage Bonds (CMB) are an attractive, high-quality and simple investment option that carry a guarantee of timely payment of principal and interest from CMHC.

CMB are issued by Canada Housing Trust No. 1 (CHT), a special purpose trust created to issue CMB to domestic and international investors.
