Governments of Canada and New Brunswick invest in affordable housing

MIRAMICHI, NEW BRUNSWICK, November 13, 2017 — The governments of Canada and New Brunswick announced funding for a new affordable rental housing development in Miramichi. Once complete, this development by Prince Place Inc. will provide 24 units of rental housing to singles, seniors and people with disabilities.

Pat Finnigan, Member of Parliament for Miramichi – Grand Lake on behalf of the The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), along with the Honourable Bill Fraser, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Miramichi on behalf of the Honourable Stephen Horsman, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Fredericton North and provincial Minister of Families and Children, made the announcement today.

  • Prince Place Inc. received $480,000 in combined federal and provincial funding through the Investment in Affordable Housing agreement.
  • 12 of the 24 units will receive rental supplement assistance from the province of New Brunswick for an approximate value of $1,356,000 over 20 years
