One-Time Top-Up to the Canada Housing Benefit

The high cost of living is making it even more challenging for lower income renters to find affordable rental housing. The Government of Canada has a one-time payment of $500 to help cover the cost of rent.

This benefit is part of the Government’s plan to make housing more affordable for all Canadians.

Note: The One-Time Top-Up to the Canada Housing Benefit operates separately from the monthly Canada Housing Benefit which is co-funded and delivered by the provinces and territories.
