Senior Vice-President, Client Solutions
As Senior Vice-President of Client Solutions, Romy Bowers leads a team that brings together the expertise of CMHC’s commercial and assisted housing businesses to better understand the housing needs of Canadians and develop new client-focused products and services to meet those needs.
“We want our partners to view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges, not only using the tools we have in our toolkit but also making sure we use the tools that others have to create solutions that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadians.”
Romy joined CMHC in 2015 after a diverse career in the Canadian banking industry, including 12 years with the Bank of Montreal, where she gained extensive experience in treasury operations and risk management. Initially appointed Chief Risk Officer, she also served as CMHC’s Chief Commercial Officer before taking on her current role.
Drawn to CMHC in part by the transformational changes underway across the company, Romy believes Canada’s national housing agency can use its influence to leverage the abilities, capabilities and resources of others to create innovative solutions.
“I have lots of experience in change management, and CMHC’s ambitious agenda for change really interested me. I also admired CMHC for the amazing work it did for Canadians during the global financial crisis. This is definitely a company that punches above its weight in terms of influence.”
Romy holds a Masters of Arts from McGill University and a Masters of Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Toronto. She strives for work-life balance with an active lifestyle that includes running, swimming and skiing. Romy lives in Toronto with her husband, with whom she shares a passion for literature and travel.
